Obituary - Funeral services for Capt. Chauncey D. Albin, retired bayman and boat livery proprietor, who died Tuesday night at his home on Railroad avenue, Bellport, were held this afternoon, the Rev. George Borthwick, pastor of the Bellport Presbyterian church, officiating. Born in Manorville, Mr. Albin was a lifelong resident of Suffolk, and had spent most of his life in Bellport. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Price Albin, who is village clerk of Bellport; a son, DeForrest W. Albin of Bellport, and a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Smart of Brooklyn. The children are by a former marriage. Mrs. Albin is a daughter of Everett Price, once mayor of Bellport. Interment will be made in Woodland cemetery, Bellport. Captain Albin was widely known among summer residents, as well as year-around people, being so much on the shore and the bay in the midst of yachting activities. Mr. Albin, son of the late Elbert Albin and Hannah Lane Albin, lived in Brookhaven for many years before establishing his home in Bellport. He was a member of the South Haven Presbyterian church and the Bellport Fire department.
