SANDERS, LUCILLE GRITTON 84, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Norton Suburban Hospital. She was a native of Mercer County, KY, the daughter of the late William M. and Ethan Sanford Gritton. She was a devoted wife and mother, a member of Mt. Hebron Methodist Church in Mercer County and an associate of St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Col. Marshall Andrew Sanders, a sister and brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Lynn Sanders; sister-in-law, Maxine Sanders Schneider; and nieces and nephews, William Lyen, Dr. Boyd Nash Sanders (Carla), Jeannie G. Michalik (Ted), William H. Schneider Jr. (Cheri), Robert A. Schneider (Donna), Paula S. Schenk (Garry), Lisa Klingenfus (John) and Billy Mac Gritton.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3515 Grandview Ave., with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mt. Hebron Methodist Church or St. Matthews Baptist Church.
