William Is The Son Of William Maxwell Gritton Sr & Etha Lillard Sanford, William Married 1st/ Mary Will "Billie" Sanders On 21 Sept, 1946 Mercer Co, Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Married 2nd/ Elsie Currens Robinson on 25 May, 1990 Mercer Co, Kentucky. William was in the Air Force, a Sgt. and Tailgunner. He was a farmer and later Chief Deputy Property Valuation Administrator in the Mercer County PVA Office. He was a Mercer County School Board member for 18 years, some of those years being the Chairman. He graduated from Vanarsdell Elementary School and Salvisa High School, Salvisa, Kentucky. He attended and graduated from Farm School. He and his dad owned an A+ level dairy farm 2 miles from Salvisa on Garriott Lane. The dairy was sold in the early 60's. The farm transitioned to a beef cattle farm and a tobacco farm. At one time William also owned two other farms. He married Mary Will "Billie" Sanders on September 21, 1946 in the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. They first lived in Harrodsburg before moving to the "little house" on the family farm. In the early 60's they moved up to the "big house" when his parents moved to Harrodsburg following his dad's massive heart attack. He and Billie had two children.....Lisa Gritton Klingenfus and William Maxwell "Billy Mac" Gritton. He had 3 grandchildren.....Sarah Ross Gritton, Brian Jacob Klingenfus and Kelli Renee Klingenfus. He has one great grandchild, Trinity Chenault. He was at a loss when Billie passed away from lung/liver cancer in 1986. He reunited with an old schoolmate who had also lost her spouse to cancer, Elsie Currens Robinson. They were married and spent time between both their homes, his in Salvisa and hers in Lawrenceburg. He nicknamed the family farm "Twilight Ridge". In 2000, William passed away from lung/bone cancer. He was a good man, helping many in the community
