Moses is the son of Samuel Daniel Goswick and Augustus Ann Miller. He was born in Georgia and moved to Franklin County, Texas with his parents at the age of eight years. He married Mary Mildred Arthur at Mount Pleasant on Feb 9, 1908. They owned a farm near Saltillo in Hopkins Co. and raised a family of thirteen children (two of which died as infants).
