Tom Goswick died at his home in Denison at 9:30 o'clock last Thursday morning after a long illness and his body brought to Mt. Vernon for interment Friday afternoon. Accompanying the body and in attendance at the funeral were his wife and baby of Galveston, his sister Mrs. Eva Rountree of Arlington, and his brothers Lawrence of Mineral Wells, Mose of Mexia, Oliver of Dallas, Farris of Dallas; brothers of a distance who could not be present were J.R. of Birmingham, Ala., and Ruper of Plainville, Ga. He was also a brother of our fellow citizen A.J. Goswick. Tom Goswick was a son of the late S.D. Goswick and was born at Plainville, Ga. December 28, 1874. The family moved to Texas and located at Mt. Vernon in 1895 and made his home here for several years. He married Miss Minnie Sisk of Rome, Ga. and one son was born to them – Marcus Goswick who now resides at Galveston. Tom's health had been very bad for number of years and his death was not unexpected. The funeral services were held by Bro. T.H. Morris of the Methodist Church.
