Marcella Carol Heitkamp, 86, Breckenridge, Minnesota, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.

Marcella Anderson was born in Western Township, Ottertail County, Minnesota, Nov. 3, 1928 the daughter of Anton and Clara (Martinson) Anderson. She started her schooling at a country school near Campbell, Minnesota, and then graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1945.

On Dec. 28, 1946 Marcella was united in marriage to Wilfred Heitkamp in the rectory of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They filled their home in Breckenridge with love, laughter and nine children, all of which attended St. Mary’s Catholic School.

Marcella’s Catholic faith was a significant part of her life. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, serving as a Christian Mother and a circle member for many years. She looked forward to getting together with her friends in the Ladies Coffee and Birthday Club. For decades, Marcella was a dedicated sales representative for Avon, serving clients up until a year ago. She loved to sew and make quilts and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Recently, she learned to love the game of Farkle. She looked forward to visiting with family and friends and often welcomed them into her home with the aroma of homemade goodies. As a devoted wife and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her family was her crowning glory.
