Son of Virgil Lee and Deloris Keller Nelson Sr.
Married to Lisa Janette Mormon Moore. She died in 2012.
Survivors include son Joseph Lee Nelson; daughter Ashley Nelson; 3 grandchildren; sister Paulette (Donn) Proctor; brother David (Beckey) Nelson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Worked for Random House in Crawfordsville.
He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and watching NASCAR.

Service 1pm Saturday at Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Visitation 11am until time of service.
