Kenneth Lowin Fryer
1938 - 2015

Early Life: Ken was born June 25, 1938 in Provo, Utah, son of Howard Reuben and Helen "Winona" Clark Fryer. He spent most of his life in the Provo/Orem area.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He served as a missionary in the Northern States Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He continued to faithfully serve and magnify various church callings throughout his life. He was married to his sweetheart, Joan Hales, on May 29, 1962, in the Salt Lake Temple. Ken graduated from Brigham Young University in business management and spent the majority of his career working at Signetics, where he ultimately retired. Ken lived by his own philosophy of the Fryer Family Fs: Family, Faith, Fishing, and Flowers. Being the oldest grandchild in his family, all of his siblings, cousins, and friends looked up to him as their mentor. Ken was blessed with five children, in whom he instilled the values of hard work, honesty, and living the principles of the gospel. One of the greatest joys in his life was his 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They loved spending time with him outdoors; whether fishing, hunting, or gardening. They spent hours listening to his stories and played endless rounds of his favorite board game, Pollyanna. In their eyes, he was, and will forever remain their hero. The world lost a great fisherman, Kenneth Lowin Fryer, on May 10, 2015, in the midst of his loving family after a valiant 28-year battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 76.
Family Message: "Thank you for showing through your example of determination and strength that if you continue to remain faithful to gospel principles, keep a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and of course, lots of fishing, you can overcome any obstacle that life may throw your way. You are the true meaning of enduring to the end. Although we will miss you terribly, we will remember what you taught us, to just hang in there until we meet again. We love you Quasi."
Survived By: His wife, Joan; their five children: Lisa, Lynn, Russell, Kristine, and Benjamin; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a brother and sister.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; brothers, Howard Richard and Lynn Russell; and great-grandson, Hudson Crandall.
