Gladys Ritchie Wooden, age 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, in a local health care facility.
Mrs. Wooden was a long time resident of Chattanooga, the salutatorian of the Tyner High School class of 1943, and a retiree of Vulcan Materials Company after 26 years in the accounting department.
She was a member of the former Shepherd Baptist Church and for many years enjoyed worshipping at Heritage Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Wooden; father, Lige Ritchie; mother, Dollie Ritchie; sister, Lucy Bible; and brother, Ples Ritchie.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda S. Wooden; niece, Martha B. Mitteness; and sister-in-law, Wilma L. Ritchie.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14th at Tyner Cemetery (adjacent to Heritage Baptist Church) with Rev. Dan Riley officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
