Local history and a family history site mentioned Emsley's (or son Emsley G?) involvement in plotting and paving Bessemer Avenue in Greensboro NC (a major road later during WW2 going to ORD). Today Bessemer has a side street named Lowdermilk St, and in southeastern Greensboro there is Emsley Drive.
