Ross was the youngest son of Jason & Lovina (Nichols) Young & he grew up on family farms in Auglaize County, Logan County, & Delaware County, OH. In about 1909, Ross was married to Zoa May Vigar in Delaware County. Ross & Zoa first lived with Ross' widowed mother Lovina on a farm along the Bean-Oller Road in Concord Township, Delaware County, OH, and could still be found living there on the 1920 Federal Census. Ross' household was then located "next door" to that of his older brother Arthur Lott Young and the two made a living by farming the Jason Young property. Ross & Zoa parented three children between the years of 1910 & 1915: Dorance R. Young, William Jason Young (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery), & Lillie (a.k.a. "Lilley") Young.
