Elizabeth Bryson is the daughter of William Bryson (Abt. 1775-1837) and Elizabeth Turner (Abt. 1785-1844). She married Meritt Burgin Strain (1808-1866) on 10 Feb 1830 in Macon County, North Carolina.
Merritt and Elizabeth are the parents of six known children:

2. George R. McDuffie Strain (1833-1834)
3. Thomas Merritt LaFayette Strain, Sr. (1840-1902)
4. James Lewis Strain (1842-1918)
