Born to John Dedrick (1805-1860) of New York & his second wife, Mary "Polly" Cain Peach Dedrick (1802-1890) of Kentucky, who married on Oct. 20, 1844 in Dubois County, IN. This was a second marriage for both; Mary had previously been married to William Joe Peach, who died in 1842.

Martha married George Washington Stone (1841-1926) on July 27, 1865, in Pike County, IN.

Six children:
• McCrillis R. Stone (1868-1932)
• Dora Agnes Stone Russell Bowers Waller (1870-1951)
• Sarilda Arrisa Stone Smith (1872-1968)
• Margret Ann Stone Ruark (1875-1918)
• George Wilbur Stone (1878-1957)
• Ada Stone Hungerford (1881-1967)
