He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II with two Silver Stars for service in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean.
He was preceded in death by his son, John.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, the former Eileen Kelly; two sons, Michael and Patrick Kellogg; four daughters, Mary Rupp, Dr. Anne Kellogg, Therese Kellogg and Peggy Simpson; and eight grandchildren.
Mass will be at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at Immaculate Conception Church in La Grange.
Memorial contributions may go to the church's building fund.
