...He attended the country school in his home district, commonly known as the Fairview school and now included in the Athol school district. In 1909 the family moved to Palacious, Texas. Not long afterward, Mr. Clark and the younger son, Ray, were overtaken by a heavy storm on the Gulf of Mexico. The engine of their motor-powered boat failed them. Ray removed his coat to protect his father and died from exposure in the storm.
...Not long after this tragedy, Mr. and Mrs. Clark with their one remaining child, returned to Kansas, but about 1916 they moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. Here the father died in August 1920, and the mother in early January 1947. George continued his residence in Colorado Springs and in November 1947, married Mrs. Ada Viola Storm, a near neighbor and the mother of a grown family. She also died, Nov. 11, 1952.
...Mr. Clark is survived by her five children and her other relatives as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sullivan, Sharon Springs, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Storm, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Storm. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Becker, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Storm, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mahan, all of Colorado Springs, Colo. He is survived by an aunt, his mother's sister, Mrs. Ada Young, at present residing with her daughter, Mrs. Effie Hight, Nyssa, Oregon. Mrs. Young's other daughter and three sons live in California, Oregon and Idaho.
...Also surviving is another aunt, Mrs. Ellen D. Panter, the widow of his mother's brother, Walter Panter. She resides in Smith Center. There are numerous cousins. The ones residing in this vicinity are: W. H. Panter, A. J. Panter, Mrs. Eva Conaway and Mrs. Eddie Struckhoff, all of Athol, Kans.; J. H. Panter, Reid Panter, H. G. Panter, Clyde Panter, Mrs. Ethel Conaway and Mrs. Myrtle Drew all of Smith Center; also Mrs. Cora Kaiser of Kensington, Kans.
...Funeral services were held from Simmons-Olliff chapel Monday, June 7.
