Betty Lou Whorton, age 76, of Manassas, VA went with the Lord on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
She was born on March 18, 1939 in Sterling, VA the daughter of the late Clarence and Rachel Martyn. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant working in several nursing homes in the area. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray T. Whorton, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Strombelline; She was beloved mother of Ray T. Whorton, Jr, Betty Diane Maslock, Brian A. Whorton, Sr., James R. Whorton; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Esther Starkey and Helen Costello; 2 brothers; Clarence Martyn, Jr. and Allen Martyn; and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
The family will receive from 6:00-8:00pm Friday, May 8, 2015 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 9, 2015 with Pastor Tony Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Sterling Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in remembrance of Betty Lou Whorton.
