On Sunday at Granite Falls, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Whealy, all that was mortal of Mrs. Inger Kottum passed from this life. Mrs. Kottum was born in Norway on Jan. 1 1832 making her age at the time of her death 81 years and 16 days. She came to this country in 1865 settling at St. Peter but two years later moved ot Renville county where she since lived until up to three years ago, owing to infirmities of age she made her home with her daughter.
The remains were brought to this city Monday afternoon and taken to the old home in the town of Sacred Heart. The funeral was held Wednesday at the Oppedahle church.
The demise of the deceased makes one more of the pioneers who have joined the great majority. Coming to the country at the time she did she was destined to endure the hardships incident to that time.
She leaves to morn her loss an aged husband, four sons and two daughters; Louis of Renville Peter and Anton of Sacred Heart township and Theodore of Bertha, Minn., Mrs. Nettie Whealy of Granite Falls and Mrs. Amelia Nelson of the town of Sacred Heart. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
The undersigned desires thro these columns to express their heartfelt thanks to all who so kindly ministered to us during the illness and the death and burial of our beloved wife and mother.
