(08/13/2003) Nathan C. Johanson, age 77, of San Leanna passed away August 11, 2003. Nathan retired from the U.S. Army in 1965. He was a member of Manchaca Methodist Church and a Sunday School Teacher for the Marbridge Ranch Sunday School Class for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Emma White Johanson; brothers, Lonnie, Bill, Albert and Marrell Johanson; and sisters, Roberta Rossi, Margie Meyers and Ozella Barkell. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Striegler Johanson of San Leanna; sons, Terry R. Johanson of Galveston and Kris S. Johanson and wife, Lee Anne of San Leanna; grandchildren, Shelley Beseda of Fayetteville, Natalie and Erik Johanson of San Leanna; great-grandchildren, Ty and Tara Beseda of Fayetteville; sisters, Vera Pardo of Tickfaw, Louisiana, Wilma Berry of Ft. Worth and Myrtle Redd of Richardson; and sisters-in-law, Georgia Leonard of San Angelo and Erma Johanson of California. The family will recieve friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2003, at Manchaca United Methodist Church on FM 1626 in Manchaca. Burial will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park in Manchaca. Pallbearers will be Mark Hartley, Cecil Simpson, Mark Baseda, Kenny Striegler, Bill Andrews, Preston Schultz, Keith Striegler and Gary Striegler.
