Thelma Mann Van Slyke, 88,of Woodville, passed away, Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015 beginning at 12:00 noon until service time at 2 p.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Colmesneil Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas. Officiating will be Dr. Collin Bullard.

Thelma was born February 27, 1927 to James Claude & Emma Aline Bendy Mann in Colmesneil, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Tyler County. She loved her family, cooking, photography and gardening. She had been very active in First Baptist Church of Woodville and Orange where she had taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Van Slyke in 2012; and son, Joseph Thomas “Joe” Van Slyke in 2001.

She is survived by her son, Henry Van Slyke & wife, Caron of Orange; brother, Robert “R.C.” Mann & wife, Betty of Bridge City; daughter-in-law, Jody Van Slyke of Austin; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Jimmy & Pauline Van Slyke of Liberty, MO; and niece, Ann Dickerson of Orange.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
