Mr. J. E. Brown of Carlisle arrived in our Village Monday evening bearing the sad news to D.H.C. Gaige that David Gaige, his brother was dead, having died from injuries received on the Friday previous caused by a young team of horses, hitched to a road cart, running away throwing him out on the ground hurting him in such a manner that he lay unconscious until death released his suffering.
Mr. Gaige was in the 59th year of his age and well known in this community. The Funeral services were held from the Friends Church in this Village on Wednesday July 19th and were conducted by Mrs. Francis Hoag. Interment was in Friends Burial Grounds.
