Mary Elizabeth Getz, 85, of New Market, Virginia, died April 30, 2015 at Life Care Center of New Market.
She was born April 30, 1930 in Mathias, West Virginia, and was a daughter of the late John Franklin and Julia Sager Mathias.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Timberville, and a member of Crossroads Homemakers Club.
On April 30, 1955 she married Willard Everette Getz, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1982.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda L. Getz of New Market; one son, Barry W. Getz and wife Cory of Mt. Jackson; one sister, Ressie Hahn of Wardensville, WV; two grandchildren; two step-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy, Woodrow, John, and Benjamin Mathias; and her sisters, Minnie Delawder, Gussie Stultz, Ada Caplinger, and Beulah Barb.
Pastor Marilyn Heishman will conduct a funeral service 11:00 AM Monday at St. Lukeás United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Solomon's Lutheran Church Cemetery near Forestville.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
