Clare Banigan of Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, a switchboard operator for the Jordan Marsh Co. for five years before retiring in 1975, died May 13, 1995 at home. She was the wife of Laurence H. Banigan Jr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Clarence A. and Mary D. (Curtis) Penhallow, she moved to Warwick in 1940.
Mrs. Banigan owned the Naganab Kennels and the Companion Dog Training Club in Rhode Island. She was a dog trainer, exhibitor and judge for many years, and a breeder of Golden Retrievers. She was formerly a clerk at the Conimicut Post Office for 10 years, and assistant manager of the former Rhode Island Auditorium.
Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, a son, three grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
