Charles Arnold Money was born September 24, 1882 in Ramer, Montgomery County, Alabama to Benjamin Money and Susan Emily Rollo. He was the youngest of 5 children born to this couple. Charles was never to know his father well. Benjamin Money died when Arnold was 2 1/2. His mother, Susan remarried three years after the death of her husband. She married a man named Thomas Levi Cox on March 15, 1888 in Montgomery County, Alabama. Three more children were born and soon after the birth of the last one, the family moved to Navarro County, Texas.

Arnold spent his teenage years in Navarro County in a town called Rice. It was there that he met his future wife, Claudie Ida Barton, daughter of David Jeremiah Barton and Martha Caroline Marshall. They were married in Navarro County on June 27, 1905.

Ten children blessed this union... One child, Alvan Lowell died as an infant. The other nine live to adulthood. They were Lora Lee, Marshall Claude , David Benjamin, Annie Laura, Eula Mozell, Jess Weldon, Charles Alexander, Alford Lee, and Martha Lue. All married and had families. The family moved around quite a bit in Texas living in Mabank, Haskell, Runningwater, Morton, Floyadada and finally settling in Pampa, a small town in Gray County in the panhandle region of Texas.

Arnold Money died on November 5, 1959 of a Cerebral Thrombosis. Contributing factors were Arteriosclerotic cerebrocardiovascular disease and diabetes.

CHARLES A. MONEY DIES EARLY TODAY

Funeral services are pending for Charles Arnold Money, 1008 E. Scott, who died at 7:30 this morning in Highland General Hospital, it has been announced by Duenkel-Carmichael Funeral Home.

Mr. Money, retired farmer, was born September 24, 1882 in Alabama and moved to Pampa in 1946 from Morton, where he had lived since 1932.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Claudie Money of Pampa; four daughters, Mrs. W. O. Boone of Lamesa, Mrs. C. R. Gillis of Stinnett, Mrs. Jack Ramsay of Miami, Mrs. J. F. Kelley of Pampa; five sons, Marshall of crosbyton, Ben of Pampa, Jess of Oklahoma City, Okla., Charlie of Amarillo, Lee of Compton, Calif.; half-sister, Mrs. Eula Braddock of Dallas; half-brother, Jess Cox of Stamford; 32 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
