He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. His plane was shot down and he was taken prisoner of war, and was liberated after 14 months of confinement.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Patricia Gilmartin; his second wife, Patsy Crull; and a sister, Mary Dibiase. He was survived by two daughters; five sons; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister.
Interment on November 4, 2015.
