Mr. John Smart Passes to the Great Beyond
Mr. John Smart, aged 53 years, died at his home on Barlow Hill, on Thursday morning of last week. He had been in declining health for a year or more.
The funeral and interment took place at Union Grove Cemetery Friday afternoon, December 28, 1917, with Rev. Mr. Green officiating.
Mr. Smart is survived by his widow, Sarah Evelyn Smart; seven children, sons, John Smart, Lon Smart, R. B. Smart and Claude Smart, all at home; Mrs. Bob Westbrooks (Maude), Mrs. Charlie Allen (Effie) and Mrs. Wheeler Evans (Vadie), all of Piedmont; three brothers, Harp Smart, Ben Smart and Dock Smart, of Arkansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary O'Bar, of this city, and another sister in Arkansas.
