Wanda Lee Burpo, 73, of Harrisburg, died 3:15 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Harrisburg Care Center.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Hogan Cemetery in Shawneetown with the Rev. Robert Patton officiating. Arrangements are in the charge of Gaskins Funeral Home.

She was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Gallatin County, to Sherman and Lela (Thompson) Stacey. On Oct. 1, 1951, she married Gilbert L. Burpo, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1974.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Vera L. (Eugene) Buck of Mountain Home, Ark.; a son, John R. Burpo of Harrisburg; four brothers, Jim (Janice) Stacey of Mississippi, Joe (Judy) Stacey of Carrier Mills, Donnie (Gloria) Stacey of Simpson and Paul Stacey of Shawneetown; four sisters, Helen (Alfred) Fuchs of Harrisburg, Neva Thompson of Shawneetown, Emma (Charles) Smith of Shawneetown and Wilma Stacey of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William (Bill) Stacey and a sister, Mildred Cremeens.
