Age 96 of Mauston passed away, peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday April 28, 2015. Margaret was born on February 20,1919 the daughter of Patrick Michael and Ellen (Nellie ) Powers. She was a lifelong resident of Mauston, raised with her three brothers ( Michael, Carl and Thomas), on their family farm just outside of town. She graduated from Mauston High School Class of 1937 and attended Juneau County Normal graduating with teaching certificate in 1939. Margaret taught school for 7 years. one year at Oak School 3 yrs at Lemonweir and 3 years at Pleasant Valley. Margaret met her husband Harold at a U.S.O. dance at Camp McCoy and they were married on September 22, 1945 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mauston. They were blessed with nine children. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Harold in December of 1993, an infant son Joseph, and three brothers Michael Powers, Carroll Powers. Thomas Powers.
