Marie Knapp, age 75, of Stevens Point, went to her final reward on April 27, 2015 at St. Michaels Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family as she prepared to meet her savior.

Marie was born on July 13, 1939 to Edward Goretski Sr. and Cecilia Ann (Kostus) Goretski in Germania Township, Shawano County, WI. She attended grade school and high school in Rosholt, WI.

She married Peter Knapp on October 27, 1958 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt.

Marie was a homemaker and dedicated her life to raising two sons, Rodney and Roy. She loved singing and enjoyed being a part of church chorus, as well as singing at family get-togethers. Marie was a very generous person and would share what she had with anyone in need, especially Catholic missionaries. She would also give her time to help others when they were ailing or needed help recovering from their medical conditions. Marie was an avid country music fan and enjoyed listening to her country favorites: Patsy Kline, Kitty Wells and Conway Twitty. She also was a great fan of Elvis Presley, and collected Elvis memorabilia.

Marie enjoyed cooking and often prepared great treats that everyone looked forward to at every family event. Family was always important to Marie, she never forgot anyone's birthday, graduation, first communion, confirmation, wedding, etc. She especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Rodney (Lisa Grass) Knapp and Roy (Jenn) Knapp, both of Plover; grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Ashley, Monica, John, and Jason; great grandchildren, Geathne, Britney, Emily, Lexy, and Joshua. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard (Delores) Gorteski of Wisconsin Rapids, Gary (Jean) Goretski of Bancroft, Lee (Sandra) Goretski of Mesa, AZ, Dennis, Ralph and Marvin Goretski of Tigerton; sisters, Janice Woyak of Plover and Carole Iwanski of Appleton; sister-in-laws, Sandy and Pat Goretski; special nieces, Lisa Iwanski and Michelle Leitzke; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.

She was preceded in death by her parent; brothers, Edward Jr., Eugene, and Maynard; brother-in-law, Gregory Woyak; sister-in-law, Bonnie Goretski; uncle and godfather, August Kostus Jr.; grandmother, Mary Kostus; Nephews, Don Goman, Vern Goman, Kelly Goretski, Alan Goretski; and special cousin, Beatrice Simonis.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at St Stephen Catholic Church with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz presiding. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and concluding with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Boston Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow the funeral in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
