Kenneth Handelong, 80, of Bangor, died Saturday, December 31, 2005, in Easton Hospital, Wilson Borough.

Born: July 19, 1925, in North Bangor, he was a son of the late Clarence and Sadie Sigafoos Handelong.

Personal: He and his wife, the former Alda F. Supers, observed their 36th wedding anniversary this past September. He was employed as an equipment operator for PennDOT in Pen Argyl for 16 years, until retiring in 1987. He served in the Army as a sergeant in World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.

Memberships: He was a life member of the Bangor American Legion, the Bangor VFW, and a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, Inc.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Joanne Jones, of York, Pa., a step-son,Ronald Frommer, of Northampton; asister, Fredia Hinton, of Neb., a brother, Alfred of Mount Bethel; seven step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and his dog, Pepper. He was predeceased by his step-father, Joshua Handelong, and a brother, Cloyd.

Services: In the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Bangor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Plainfield Township, Pa.
