Charitie Burton of the Delmer community, Pulaski County, Kentucky, died at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital at the age of 97.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Delmer Church of the Nazarene.
She was survived by her sons, Roy Burton of Monticello, Illinois and Johnny Burton of Deland, Illinois; her daughters, Marie Decaigny of Monticello, Illinois, Iridia Brock of Nancy, Kentucky, Lou Vernia Brock of Nancy, Kentucky, and Rhodia Jan Stevenson of Fountaintown, Indiana; her sister, Ethel Burton of Nancy, Kentucky; 34 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Burton and Mary Elizabeth (Trimble) Burton; her husband, Benjamin Shelby "Son" Burton; her sons, Davis Burton, Wilbert Burton, Harold Dean Burton, Gilbert Burton, and Russell Burton; her daughters, Edna Belle Johnston and an infant daughter; her brothers, Oscar Burton, Orville Burton, James Victor Burton, and Cleatus Burton; and her sister, Nellie Burton.
Funeral services were held at the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with Reverend Gilbert Robinson officiating.
