—C. B. Pflum, Jr., and wife of Bevier, Mo., returned home last Monday after attending the funeral of his father, C. B. Pflum, Sr., of near Plevna which was conducted last Sunday at his home by Rev. E. O. Basye of Bethel. The deceased received a fall on Sunday of last week and died from the effects, he being very feeble. Aged 83 years. Burial in the King graveyard. M. S. Pflum of near Wauneta, Neb., after receiving word of his father's serious illness left to see his father but on account of being delayed on the road did not reach here until Monday after his father was deceased. He will visit relatives and friends in the north part of the county for about a week before returning home.

Grandfather Pflum departed this life Saturday and the funeral was conducted at his home by Brother Basey, after which interment took place at the King graveyard. The aged wife and children have our deepest sympathy.
