Susanna was born in the Ulster area of Ireland.
She was first married to Jesse Hatton, who passed in 1759. First wife of Thomas Lightfoot. Susanna was a Quaker minister. She met Thomas on a trip to America to preach. Thomas brought her and her children (Susanna and brothers) to Uwchlan, Chester County, PA. Susanna (daughter) was born about 1752. Several children stayed in Ireland.

Susanna Hudson married Joseph Hatton, linen weaver, of Lisburn [near Belfast] in 1742. Joseph died in Waterford, Ireland in 1759. They had 9 known children and sons John, Thomas and Robert as well as daughter Susanna came to Uwchlan Twp., Chester Co. with Susanna and her second husband Thomas Lightfoot. Susanna was a well-known Quaker minister and traveled around the colonies.
