Eula Irene Thornton was born to Bert and Frances Thornton on April 25, 1914 in Swanwick, Illinois.

On July 9, 1934 she married Kenneth Davis in Salem, Illinois.

Eula was a homemaker who got her training early, helping to raise her brothers and sister, baking pies for school lunches starting at the age of nine. She also worked at various places in her life, including the dress factory in Coulterville, the shoe factory in New Athens and a coat factory in St. Louis. Her hobbies included quilting and making comforters - giving many of them away over the years to her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.

Eula and Kenneth were faithful members of the First Pentecostal Church in Pinckneyville, serving there for many years.

Eula is survived by three sons, one daughter, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, one brother, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, fifteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one daughter, one daughter-in law, one sister, six brothers, and four grandsons.
