CSA: Company F, 2nd Virginia Infantry. A surgeon in the Stonewall Brigade. Postwar Medical Doctor in Winchester.
Cornelius's death announcement was posted in the "Evening Star", Washington, D.C. on February 6, 1916, page 78 and read as follows. Dr. Cornelius Baldwin, seventy-eight years old, a retired physician, who died several days since in Winchester Memorial Hospital, was one of three brothers who served side by side as surgeons in the Confederate Army. The other two being the late Dr. John Baldwin and the late Dr. Robert Baldwin. Dr. Baldwins wife, who was Miss Anna Jones of New Orleans died many years ago. She was a daughter of Charles Marshall Jones, a lawyer and associate of Judah P. Benjamin, secretary of state of the Confederate States and, after the war, Queen's counsel in London. One son, C.M. [Cornelius Marshall] Baldwin survives.
