Born January 31, 1925 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Maude Robinson Childs of the Three Mile Community. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband; Don E. Carpenter who passed away in March 1994, two brothers; Manning and Albert Childs, and a sister; Lena Childs Wise.
Anna Mae was a devoted member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church and former Sunday school teacher, W.M.U. President and Treasurer and Choir member. She was also a member of the E.C.A. Homemaker Club and Secretary of the Beaver Creek Club.
She is survived by two sons; Dale Carpenter and his wife, Mary Jean, and Dennis Carpenter and his wife Denise, all of the Three Mile Community, grandson; Jeff Carpenter and wife Meredith of Waynesville, NC, a great granddaughter; Adalyn, a sister; Thelma Andrews of State College, PA, and many nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Anna Mae Carpenter on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Reverend’s Brandon Pitman and Ken Mashburn officiating. A time to receive friends and share memories and support the family will be from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, April 27, 2014 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home.
