A graveside service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday at 11AM in Evergreen Memorial Estates with Rev. James Owens officiating.
A native of Wayne County, Mrs. Butler had made her home in the Ayden Community since 1971.
She had worked for E.I. DuPont for a number of years and also worked as a seamstress out of her home for many years. She attended Saint Delight OFWB Church, Ormondsville Road, for the last 15 years.
Mrs. Butler will be fondly remembered for her outgoing personality and she enjoyed the outdoors. As an accomplished seamstress, Mrs. Butler made many friends through her work. She was a good cook who enjoyed serving her family and gathering with others. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Mrs. Butler will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Lettie Mae Wallace Jones, and a step-son, Jimmy Corky Edwards.
She is survived by:
Husband of 59 years, Jesse Lee Butler;
Son, Johnnie Lynn Butler and wife, Kimberly;
Grandchildren, Cassidy and Kyndal Butler,
Brothers, Dennis Jones and wife, Della, of Knightdale and
Ervin Jones and wife, Janice, of Goldsboro;
And a number of nieces and nephews;
