Sylvia Gladys (Adams) Faber was born on October 15, 1925, to Otto and Alma (Hurtgen) Adams in Cady township, St. Croix County. She graduated from Spring Valley High School and married Walter Faber on February 22, 1944. They resided on the Faber Farm in Wilson, Wis., until September 1, 2004, when they moved to Autumn Village, Menomonie. She went to be with Jesus on Christmas Day, December 25, 2004, at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved son, Thomas, in 1969 (Vietnam War); and son-in-law, Scott Holcomb in 1983.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter; eight children, Judith Faber (Wayne Federspiel) of Madison, Susan Faber of Menomonie, David (Arlene) Faber of Glenwood City, Ronald (Doris) Faber of Colfax, Douglas Faber of Wilson, Robert (Shirley) Faber of Colfax, Laura (Don) Bergelin of Menomonie and Allan (Tamera) Faber of Wilson; two sisters, Vanita (Marvin-d) Johnson of Hudson and Alice (Orvil-d) Biel of Casa Grande, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren, Angela, Thomas, Justin, Jerrod (fiancée Jenny Nelson), Douglas Jr. “DJ” (Michelle), Katie, Jeremy (Renae LaPointe), Ryan (fiancée Jamie Bressler), Emily and Andrea (James Prinsen) Faber, Carrie (Brad) Poehls, Paula (Jon) Price, Nicholas (Sara) and Benjamin (Christie Gibis) Holcomb; 11 great-grandchildren; many close relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30, at Wilson Lutheran Church in Wilson, Wis. Cremation will follow the services, with burial at a later date.

Visitation for Sylvia will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, at Keehr Funeral Home in Spring Valley.
