Ret. Major Willie Roe "Jake" Jacobs, 79, of Columbus died Tuesday April 21, 2015 at Muscogee Manor and Rehabilitation.

Full Military Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday April 25, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. 31907 with Chaplain Muriel Pitts officiating.

A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Friday April 24, 2015 at the funeral home.

Major Jacobs was born April 27, 1935 in Brundidge, Alabama the son of the late Roscoe Jacobs and Lera Stone Jacobs.

He retired with 22 years' service in the United States Army while serving one tour in the Korean Conflict and two tours in the Vietnam War.

He received numerous awards for his bravery.

He later became an Investigator for the Pelham Georgia Police Department for 10 years.

He was also involved with the Masons, Scottish Rite, VFW and the Georgia State Defense Force.
