John C. Rhine, 86, Grantville, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Spring Creek Healthcare Center, Harrisburg. Born September 8, 1919, in Palmyra, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna L. (Gerberich) Rhine. He retired from Harsco Corporation; was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Grantville and Goodfellows Hunting Club in Potter County. He was a former East Hanover Township Supervisor and was a life member of Blue Ridge Sportsman's Club, Grantville Volunteer Fire Company and Shellsville VFW #9639. Surviving are his wife Marguerite B. (Pankake) Rhine; sons, John H. Rhine of Middletown, Barry L. Rhine of Palmyra, Dean C. Rhine of Dauphin, and Bruce N. Rhine of Grantville; brother Paul Rhine of Hummelstown; sisters Eva Eshleman of Palmyra and Amy Rhoad of Grantville; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Debbie (Rhine) Stick and sister Anna Bickle. Funeral Saturday, June 10, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Grantville. Burial in Grantville Cemetery.
