Funeral services were held at the Bethel church Tuesday afternoon for Stephen Brigham who died December 10 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur Barker. Elder H. A. Fish officiated. Interment took place in the Bethel [sic] cemetery.
Stephen Brigham, 84 years old, was born in Chittington, Vermont, March 11, 1849. His early life was spent at Springwater, Wis. He moved to Bethel in 1900 where he spent the remainder of his life. He was united in marriage to Mary Dawes on March 26, 1872. To this union were born three sons and one daughter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Flavius and George and one foster daughter, Grace.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Dr. Brigham of Polo, Ill., a daughter, Mrs. Emma Barker, Bethel, thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph of Wild Rose, Alec of Manawa, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Merle of Flint, Mich.
