Mrs. Nellie M. Hey, 77, R.R.5, Shelbyville, died today at 3:00 a.m. at her home. She had been in failing health one year.
A resident of Shelby County most of her adult life, Mrs. Hey was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ; the Women's Guild of the church; and the Shara-Lyke Club.
Mrs. Hey was born Dec. 17, 1899, in Decatur County, the daughter of Charles and Lyda (Thackery) Platt. She was married to Elmer E. Hey on Sept 12, 1926, and he survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Betty) Yanzer, R.R.5, Shelbyville, Mrs. Ancil (Mildred) Tungate, Shelbyville, and Mrs. Thomas (Shirley) Fischer, R.R.6, Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Six brothers and sisters preceded in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Lloyd Werthmann officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ewing Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday. (Shelbyville News, Sat July 2, 1977 pg 4)
