Boy Sailor aboard the German Barque Hera, a four masted steel ship which was sailing from Chile to Falmouth with cargo of Nitrates. it was lost in a gale off Gull Rock on the night of January 31st/ February 1st. Nineteen members of the crew of 24 drowned and were buried together in the longest grave in Britain. 30 m in length.
