Edward Mershon Dies at 81 Years

Edward Mershon, 81, 0f 1123 South Hinde Street, died in St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, Wednesday at 12:15 A.M. He had been a patient in the hospital since February 26 and had been in failing health the past six months.

Mr. Mershon had been a substitute rural mail carrier out of the Washington C.H. Post Office for 44 years.

He was a member of Grace Methodist Church, and of the Fayette County, State and National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

He was the last of a family of 12 sons and daughters.

Surviving are his widow, and one daughter, Mrs. Regina Penwell, the latter of New Lexington. Also four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at the Gerstner Funeral Home, and burial will be made in the family lot in the Washington C.H. Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
