Diana was born to Leo and Carrie Teats.

She went to grade school in Lewiston and then moved to Kooskia and from there to Lapwai, where she graduated. She attended Northwest College in Kirkland, Wash., for one year.

She went to work for Vernon and Edna McPherson at their lodge, in Lowell, Idaho. That is where she met her husband, Ernest Chase, of Cloverland, Wash. They were married in a little one-room church at the Lochsa Log Cabin Motel, on May 9, 1964.

They moved to the ranch at Cloverland, where she became mother to Ernest's four little, active, rambunctious boys who had lost their mother to cancer. She felt God had called her to the mission field but soon realized the mission field God had for her was the four little boys, Mick, Lonnie, Larry and Paul, who needed her to be their mother.

They lived on the ranch for six years before moving to Rapid River Ranch at Riggins. They attended the Riggins Assembly, where Diana became active as a Sunday school teacher, Missionettes leader, sang in the choir, and kept busy being a mother, wife and running a ranch.

She made an impression on many little girls and taught them to not compromise their faith. She taught them accountability before they knew what the word really meant. She gave her opinion bluntly, in no uncertain terms, and they accepted it.

Gardening started out as a means to feed her family but soon became a hobby she thoroughly enjoyed.

In 1970, she gave birth to their daughter, Nita, and in 1974, their son Kalvin was born. Her passion was leading people to Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her father Leo Teats, son, Lonnie Chase, and sister, Eva Schwab.
