Mr. Ahrens, husband of Elizabeth (Robenon) Ahrens, died Monday, January 20, at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.
He was born October 9, 1932, in Waterbury, son of the late James R. and Olive (Oliver) Ahrens Sr. He was a foreman at the Waterbury Tag Co., retiring in 1990 after 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 165 in Wolcott and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Oakville Post 7330.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Raymond R. Ahrens of Waterbury; three daughters, Mrs. Ann Fruin, Mrs. Lori Diorio and Mrs. Jean Murphy, all of Waterbury; and four grandchildren.
