DEATH OF MRS. C. B. CANNON

Wife of Veteran Motorman of Street Railway Died Today—Native of Clayton.

Mrs. Alice Cannon, wife of Calvin B. Cannon of 1845 Broadway died this morning at 10:30 o'clock in her home after an illness of three weeks of a complication of diseases.

Mrs. Cannon was born September 27, 1865, near Clayton and was the daughter of the late Adam Rutledge and Mrs. M. E. Rutledge. Most of her life was spent near Columbus where she was married in 1887 to Calvin B. Cannon. Three children were born to this union, two of whom survive, one daughter, Mabel, having died in infancy. The surviving children are Nina M. Cannon, at home, and Mrs. Roy Brazelton of Quincy.

In December, 1898, the family moved to Quincy where Mr. Cannon has been employed as motorman on the street railway for 20 years. At the age of 13 years Mrs. Cannon united with the Christian church in Columbus, but after her marriage she joined the Methodist church. After moving to Quincy she became a member of the Vermont Street M. E. church and was a faithful and active worker there until her death. She was a member of Section C of the Ladies' Social Union of that church and was a member of Oak Camp No. 643, R. N. A., in which she held the office of chancellor.

Besides her husband and two children she leaves three grandchildren and her aged mother, Mrs. M. E. Rutledge; four sisters, Mrs. R. E. McNeall of Quincy, Mrs. P. W. Patterson of Wahpeton, N. D.; Mrs. R. I. Fisher of Creede, Colo., and Mrs. C. E. Allen of Coatsburg. One sister, Mrs. W. H. McNeall, passed away January 5, 1916, and a brother, Derwood Rutledge, July 6 1916.
