Mrs. Krause was born January 6, 1925, in Sparks, Georgia, the daughter of Allen and Sarah (Carr) Young.
She attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY, and John Hopkins University in Baltimore, where she graduated in 1948 with a BS in Nursing. She later earned her Master's degree in Community Health Nursing, from Wayne State University. On September 12, 1947, Liz married Lewis Krause, they moved to Michigan in 1949, and in 1952, they became members of the First Baptist Church, in Allegan. She worked as a nurse for John Hopkins Hospital, Sparrow Hospital, Allegan General Hospital. She was elected to the Allegan County Social Services Board in 1992.
Surviving are her three children: Robert and Arlene Krause, Konrad and Terry Krause, Karen and Jim Rix; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis, her daughter: Daphne Lynn, two sisters: Imogene and Gueldine; five brothers: Albert, Dewey, T.C., Aaron, and James.
Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 6-8 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am at the First Baptist Church in Allegan, Pastor Nathan Smith will officiate. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan.
