BOILING SPRINGS - A woman died Monday after being struck by a car while walking to the Ingles in Boiling Springs, according to Boiling Springs Police Department officials.
Barbara Harris-Greene, 53, of Webb Road in Shelby, was struck by a vehicle as she tried to cross Main Street to the Ingles parking lot, 242 N. Main St., Boiling Springs. Emergency personnel responded to the scene. Greene was taken to Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland, said Lt. Nathan Philips of Boling Springs Police Department.
“It took place at 7:21 a.m.,” Philips said. “The woman was injured on the scene and was taken to the hospital. She died around 6:10 p.m. that evening.”
No one else was injured.
At this time the driver of the vehicle has not been charged, and the incident is still under investigation.
