Glen Stephen Barney, 74, of North Salt Lake, Utah died of natural causes on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 23:05 hours at Intermountain Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Litster Barney, March 15, 2015, only four weeks prior. (Apparently he just couldn't live without her.)

He was also preceded in death by his mother, Gertie Johanna VanLeeuwen Barney, March 2, 2013; father, Glen Gardner Barney, June 12, 1983; and brother, John H. Barney, April 23, 2012.

Steve was born February 5, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended South High School then studied electronics at Weltec College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of the Army Guard, 130th Unit ACW, specializing in electronics and radar operating.

He married Alice Litster on September 19, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. He spent his professional career working at Hill Air Force Base as an aviation technician. He retired from Hill in 1993 and spent his spare time working as a ham radio operator, call number KC7EQF.

Survived by five children: Annette Doty of Bountiful, Utah; Paul Barney (Tiffany) of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Susan Lynch (Douglas) of Boise, Idaho; Sally Barney of North Salt Lake, Utah; and Todd Barney (Stacy) of Springville, Utah. Also survived by eight grandchildren: Matthew Doty, Cameron Barney, Ashlee Barney, Lillian Lynch, Brooklyn Barney, Rosemary Lynch, Andrew Lynch, and Emma Lynch. Survived also by his sister: Colleen Walz of Sandy, Utah and sister-in-law: Karen Barney of West Haven, Utah.

Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
