Henry married Esther Green Tate "Alma" and they had four children together. Carl Derle, Clayton Gene, Betty Sue, and Mary Anne. Henry also worked many odd's and end's job's to support his family.
Due to Alma's mental state, she had to remain in a nursing home shortly after the youngest daughter's birth and remained there until her death in 2005. Clayton died as a toddler from an illness, but Henry raised the other three children by himself.
Henry settled in the Bettendorf area of the Quad Cities, until his death. Mr. Estell died of complication's with cancer. He is buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley, Iowa beside his beloved wife, Alma.
